Fans of Nina Simone will feel love from all corners of the universe with the newly released animated visual “Color Is A Beautiful Thing” featuring the musical genius’ work. The accomplished singer, civil rights leader, and mentor to many revisits themes about women, race, and inequities she sang about on the track “Four Women,” from 1966’s Wild is the Wind, album. This artistic project is for the whole family. Director’s gave the track an upgrade; using cartoon characters to expose children to Nina Simone’s legacy is an educational win and a learning tool to discuss African American genealogy with children. * The animated version is reminiscent of Henri Matisse’s La Gerbe.
