ART | library deco proudly announces the release of its 2025 Community Impact Report, a publication that reflects a transformative year of growth, recognition, and forward movement for the Texas-based digital library, repository, and archival platform. Rooted in Black cultural preservation and digital humanities practice, the report documents how the library continues to expand access to art, archives, and scholarship for a global audience.
Throughout 2025, ART | library deco reached a historic milestone of more than 100,000 virtual visits, expanded its community to include over 200 library member subscribers, and was honored with the Excellence in Digital Libraries Award from the Texas Digital Library (TDL). These achievements signal the growing role of independent digital libraries in shaping how audiences engage with cultural memory online.
The report also highlights the library’s evolving educational vision, including the future debut of its first online course, Black Galleries Libraries, Archives, and Museums (BGLAM), set to launch in Fall 2027. Alongside digital innovation, ART | library deco continues to advance plans for a future physical research and community archive space in Texas — an effort supported by its nonprofit partner, The Friends of ART | library deco.
More than a reflection on data and milestones, the 2025 Community Impact Report serves as a curatorial statement — affirming the library’s commitment to preservation, access, and creative possibility. As a living archive grounded in research and community engagement, ART | library deco remains dedicated to building spaces where Black history, art, and scholarship are not only preserved, but actively reimagined.
