Upcoming Workshop: Explore Web Archiving with Browsertrix by Webrecorder
Date: June 18th, 2:00pm – 4:00pm EST | FREE ADMISSION!
Location: The New School, Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Auditorium, Sheila C. Johnson Design Center. 66 5th Ave, Room N101 New York, NY 10011
An exciting, hands-on workshop on web archiving is set to take place, spotlighting Browsertrix, the high-fidelity archiving tool developed by Webrecorder—a leader in open-source web preservation technology since 2014. Known for its commitment to “web archiving for all,” Webrecorder empowers users across experience levels to create and replay accurate digital snapshots of the internet.
During this interactive session, members of the Browsertrix team will guide participants through key features and best practices, including:
- Crawling websites using Browsertrix
- Configuring browser profiles to archive social media and content behind logins
- Applying quality assurance tools to ensure reliable capture
- Curating and sharing archival collections with communities
Designed for beginners and seasoned archivists alike, the workshop aims to equip attendees with the skills to preserve meaningful web content—whether personal, cultural, or historical.
A post-workshop happy hour in Union Square will follow, offering a relaxed setting to discuss web archives and connect with fellow participants.
RSVP is required due to limited space, and attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop to follow along and crawl in real time.
Presented by Browsertrix in collaboration with The New School Archives and Special Collections at The New School.
