ART | library deco was founded on a simple but powerful idea: that African American art, culture, and history should be accessible to everyone. In 2013, we took our first major step toward that vision by launching our digital library—a home for stories, images, and works that shape and inspire.

As someone who values art and culture, you already understand the importance of this mission. Now, we’re asking you to take the next step with us.

CAMPAIGN 2013 marks more than a milestone—it’s the launch of our TX-nonprofit arm, The Friends of Art Library Organization, and a push to secure a physical space for the library in Texas. This multi-year campaign will run through 2028, giving us time to build strong foundations, expand our reach, and develop lasting infrastructure. Your support can help us grow, protect, and sustain this vital work every step of the way. Our next goal in our strategic plan is to become a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We need your support.

Your donation helps ART | library deco to:

• Apply for and obtain 501(c)(3) nonprofit status by December 31, 2025
• Expand the digital library and art gallery
• Strengthen and diversify the digital collection
• Cover monthly and annual costs for the digital library platform, as well as ongoing monthly expenses for secure physical storage of the growing archive and future physical space
• Build a lasting home for African American art, culture, and education

As our archive continues to grow, so does the need to protect it. We currently rent secure storage space to house valuable artworks and historical materials. Ongoing financial support is essential to maintaining this protection and ensuring these cultural assets remain safe and accessible.

Ways to support CAMPAIGN 2013: Become a Friend of The Art Library

• Make a monthly or one-time donation.
  • New Friends making a one-time donation will receive an email after one year to renew their donation at the same rate.
  • Not an ART library patron – support by subscribing to the library here.

What you receive as an investor includes:

• Friends of Art Library Deco membership card
• Art Library Deco Digital Library card, with all subscription perks
• Invitations to Virtual Quarterly Meetings
• The option to join the virtual Art Library Advisory Council
