I was able to attend the 17 Annual African American CITYWIDE Artists Exhibition at the Glassell School of Art and it was one to remember. Not only did I get to see some really good work from emerging artists in Houston, Texas, and my own personal work was selected to be in the show. This was the second year that I was able to be able to be a part of this experience and I will continue to support it as long as I live in the city of Houston, Texas. There were 48 artists chosen to be in the show out of 115 submissions and it competitive to get into the show this year. The art work was top notch and then some. I’m still in awe over the paintings, collages, photography, and mini installations that were on view.
If you’re interested in participating in the next exhibition contact the Houston Museum of African American Culture for more details about the show next summer.
