Are you a practicing artist who is interested in being a teaching artist or refining your knowledge of arts integration and lesson planning?
FOR K-12 EDUCATORS
Are you a K-12 educator who wants to support arts-integrated practices in your classroom and partner with a teaching artist?
The University of Houston Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts Dance Program in partnership with Young Audiences of Houston is launching a new continuing education initiative to train artists entering the teaching field and educators interested in arts integration. The program consists of 40-45 contact hours of classroom training, field education with master artists, and collaborations between artists and educators to create arts-integrated lessons.
Course Schedule for Working Professionals:
- Summer Weekend Intensive – August 2-4 (Classroom educators attend Aug. 4 only)
- Arts for Learning Days – Three Saturdays from September-November 2018
- In-Classroom Field Experiences – Spring 2019
Qualifications: The program is open to all dancers, all teaching artists with a dance background, and all K-12 educators.
