Greetings Art Library Patron,
The Board of Directors of the Tarrant County Black Historical and Genealogical Society in Fort Worth, Texas would like to extend an invitation to you to participate in the 12th Annual Tarrant County Harambee Festival and Seafood Chicken & Blues Festival. Harambee means “all pull together” in Swahili, and we are asking Tarrant County to pull together through celebrating a shared history.
The festivities will begin on Friday evening, October 1, 2021 with the Seafood Chicken & Bluesfest from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The festival will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021; kicking off with a parade at 9:00 and a variety of festivities from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at McDonald YMCA, Southeast Fort Worth.
The festival will offer a variety of activities designed to promote love and harmony; including food services by local restaurants and vendors, arts and crafts, a health fair and poetry slam. In like manner, there will be a community stage showcasing aspiring artists and a main concert stage featuring professional local and national bands.
Admission is free to the public. We are looking for organizations, groups and individual volunteers to offer their time and services to give back to our community; fill out the online volunteer form harambeevolunteers.
