Event Description:

THOMAS J. PRICE IN CONVERSATION

This program features artist Thomas J. Price in conversation with artists and curators, Allison Glenn, Kiyan Williams, and Hugh Hayden. Co-organized by the Whitney and the Studio Museum in Harlem on the occasion of the exhibition Thomas J Price: Witness, which consists of Price’s nine-foot bronze figure, The Distance Within (2021) installed in Harlem’s Marcus Garvey Park, this discussion considers monuments, iconography, and visual politics through a diasporic lens. The exhibition’s curator Legacy Russell moderates.

This program is part of the series Conversations in the Commons organized by the Studio Museum in Harlem, in support of the current exhibition Thomas J Price: Witness.
